West Electric develops the world's first million-volt breaker

The mega-volt 1100kV-63kA-6300A GIS breaker developed by the group for the country’s UHV follow-up project has passed a national-level full-scale type test, which marks the successful development of the world’s first million-volt breaker.

This product is Xi'an Xidian Switchgear Co., Ltd., which is owned by Xidian Group, and has undertaken the research and development of the switchgear for the first national UHV AC pilot demonstration project Jingmen substation. In 2008, Xideng Group successfully developed 1 million kV 1HVDC switching equipment. On this basis, the Group also lasted nearly one and a half years, independent research and development to create the world's first million volt 1100kV 63kA circuit breaker, the equipment will also be used for national UHV follow-up projects. The successful development of this product will effectively promote the construction of China's UHV power grid.

On September 4, the first international 1000kV 1000MVA dual column structure and single column 500MVA ultrahigh voltage autotransformer independently designed and independently manufactured by XD Group broke the international UHV transformer through all routine tests and type tests. The world record for a single column with a maximum capacity of 334 MVA. The successful development of these two devices indicates that China’s UHV AC project construction has made new and significant progress in technological innovation, and the independent innovation achievements in equipment manufacturing have been consolidated and developed. It also made our country take the lead in the world in the field of UHV switchgear manufacturing.
