The maintenance personnel connected the fault diagnosis tool VAG1552 to detect the brake system of the vehicle and found the fault code of "00526027 - Unreliable signal of brake light switch". Use the fault diagnosis instrument to enter the change of the observation data of group 005 in the data stream (08). When the brake pedal is lightly pressed with the foot so that the brake light is just lit, the device displays the brake pressure of 1.4 MPa. This data is far away. It is far beyond the technical parameters (0.2MPa or less) required by the maintenance manual. Based on this diagnosis, the maintenance personnel removed the brake light switch again and reinstalled it according to the installation specifications (attached). After that, the maintenance personnel again observed the data of the third zone of the 08-005 group in the data stream, which has met the technical requirements of the maintenance manual.

After the fault code is cleared, the engine is started again, and the ABS and ESP fault warning lights on the instrument panel are no longer constantly lit. Through this failure, we are prompted to do the repair in strict accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer's maintenance manual.

Pre-installation

(1) Rotate the brake light switch housing before installation. If the part is already in this position, you do not need to perform this operation. Pay attention to the application of the ejector pin before the rotation.

(2) Pull the ejector pin to the longest position and apply a little Vaseline or lubricating oil to the ejector pin (the pull-out and jack-up of the ram must keep the brake light switch in the disassembled position, if the deadlift will be damaged Brake light switch).

(3) Put the brake light switch into the mounting hole of the brake pedal bracket. At this time, the ejector lever will be pushed back by the brake pedal. The ejector lever will be adjusted to the appropriate length according to the height of the brake pedal.

(4) Rotate the brake light switch housing clockwise by 45° by hand

(5) Use the brake pedal several times to check if the brake light can work normally. If the brake light can work normally, the installation is completed; if the brake light does not work properly, please remove the brake light switch to check if the brake light does not light due to improper installation, and check the corresponding line and fuse.
