Centrifugal refrigeration compressors, as a speed compressor, have the following advantages:

1. In the case of the same cooling capacity, especially in large capacity, compared with the screw compressor unit, the huge oil separation device is omitted, the weight and size of the unit is small, and the floor space is small;

2. The centrifugal compressor has a simple and compact structure, fewer moving parts, reliable work, durability, and low operating costs;

3, easy to achieve multi-stage compression and a variety of evaporation temperature, easy to achieve intermediate cooling, making consumption lower;

4. The lubricating oil mixed in the centrifugal unit is very small, which has little effect on the heat transfer effect of the heat exchanger, and the unit has a high efficiency.

Has the following disadvantages:

1. Rotor speed is high. In order to ensure a certain width of the impeller, it must be used in large and medium flow applications, not suitable for small flow applications;

2, single-stage pressure ratio is low, in order to obtain a higher pressure ratio must use multi-stage impeller, generally also use speed-increasing gear;

3, surge is the inherent shortcomings of centrifugal compressors, the unit must be added anti-surge system;

4. There can be no major changes in the operating conditions of the same unit and the scope of application is narrow.
