Shanghai officially implements new classroom lighting standards on September 1

The local standard (GB31/539-2011) of the “Shanghai Lighting Design Code for Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens” was formally implemented on September 1. The standard will create a comfortable green lighting environment for students by improving the classroom lighting environment in the school.

For the first time, this standard provides a comprehensive stipulation for lighting design of classrooms in the Mainland, achieving improvement in the lighting comfort of the classroom, improving the control indicators for glare, the value of the lighting power density, and increasing the lighting classification requirements for multimedia classrooms to promote the visual health of young people. It is of great significance to increase the technological content of classroom lighting.
