Environmental organization survey shows that nearly 70% of residents support ladder prices

A few days ago, the Friends of Nature’s Natural Environmental Protection Organization released the results of “Research on Residents' Electricity Consumption and Ladder Electricity Price Policy” in Beijing. The survey results show that about 70% of residents support the ladder price policy, and more than 90% of residents hope that the government will take measures to support the promotion of energy-saving products.

In October 2010, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "Guidance on Implementing Stepped Price of Residents' Live Electricity (Consultation Draft)". The research conducted by Friends of Nature in three cities including Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Xiamen shows that the vast majority of residents recognize that there is a shortage of electricity supply in the city and support the use of a ladder-based electricity price policy to save energy. Among them, Beijing citizens have the highest support rate for ladder electricity prices, reaching 73.6%; Xiamen, followed by 69.9%; and Zhengzhou, 65.9%.

However, half of the people also expressed some doubts about the ladder price policy. They are concerned that this policy is only a means to increase the price of electricity in disguise, and it cannot really save energy. Most of the residents who support the implementation of the ladder price policy have expressed that they are "conditionally endorsed." For example, out of 73.6% of Beijing's support rate, only 19.3% fully agree with 54.3% of the conditions; Xiamen's 69.9% support rate is 21.7%, and conditional approval is 48.1%. .

The survey also found that the overwhelming majority of citizens pay attention to resource conservation in their daily lives and hope that the government can take certain measures to support the promotion of energy-saving products. 93.5% of residents in Beijing think that the government needs to promote the use of energy-saving products. 41.3% of residents think that the government has not done enough to promote the use of energy-saving products. 42.4% think it is normal, and only 16.3% of the residents think that the government The work is done well.
