Do it yourself and fix the minor problems with the Windows 10 taskbar

Using Windows 10 friends will find that the task bar will always appear such problems, such as the system does not respond to the pseudo dead point task bar, the language bar can not find can not switch input method, and so on. Let us discuss today why there are problems and how to solve them when they arise.

The taskbar is gone

By default, the Windows 10 taskbar stays below the desktop, and if it is found during daily operations, the taskbar at the bottom of the table is missing. Most of the reasons are due to the user's custom settings for the taskbar. For example, set to "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" so that the taskbar is not displayed on the desktop. You can right-click in the taskbar blank to select "Settings", in the open window will be "automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" option can be closed, in addition to the user's misuse will also appear in the desktop taskbar on the left or right Such issues, these problems can also be set in the settings window itself (Figure 1).

Task tray icon is always hidden automatically

By default, the task tray will only display a limited number of icons such as input method and time. Commonly used QQ, Windows Defender, etc. will be automatically hidden. If you want to display your favorite icons in the task tray, click “Select which icons are displayed on the taskbar” in the above setting window and click on the notification area. In the window that opens, you will need to open the program icons that you want to display at all times. 2).

Task tray input method icon is missing

By default, these system icons such as input method, volume, and time are automatically displayed in the task tray. If you find that the system icon is missing, first check whether it is due to their own mistaken settings. The same as the taskbar settings window click "open or close the program icon" in the open window to see if the corresponding option is closed, if it is as long as it can be reopened (Figure 3).

If there is no corresponding system icon in the above window (or the icon is grayed out), then the reason is mostly due to damage to the system components. For example, ctfmon.exe (input method loader) is replaced or damaged by a virus, and you can copy the file with the same name on other computers to repair it. For the repair of other common problems of the input method, you can use the Sogou input method to bring the components. In the property setting page of the Sogou input method, click on the “Input Method Manager” page on the left side of the page to enter, and then in the Sogou Input Method Manager page, Click to select the "Manual Repair" option to enter the manual page of the input method, where you can fix common problems with the input method (Figure 4).

Task tray could not find Xiao Na

By default, Xiao Na will appear next to the taskbar start logo, but some users may close it completely while performing optimization operations, causing them to not appear in the task tray. At this point you can right-click on the taskbar and select "Search → Display Search Box", then start the Group Policy Editor, expand "Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Search", find "Allow Cortana" on the right, and set it to "Already Enabled, after the restart, Xiaona can be enabled on the taskbar (Figure 5).

The taskbar is dead

Most of the causes of suspended animation are caused by an application installation error. At this time, you can use the command line to repair. Run Windows Powershell in administrator mode and enter the following code in the open window (Figure 6):

Windows 10 taskbar refreshes for no reason

Task bar refresh often occurs along with the desktop, this phenomenon is generally caused by the resource manager stops working. For this kind of failure, we must first find out why the resource manager stopped working. Enter "Reliability History" in the search box. After opening the component, right click on the Windows Explorer has stopped working event and select "View Technical Details" (Figure 7).

In the open window you can see that the cause of the failure is due to the AipsShellExt.dll_unloaded dll file not loading successfully. This is the ATI graphics card management program, so the cause of the failure is mostly due to the graphics card driver (Figure 8).

Therefore, the solution is to use the device manager's auto-upgrade feature to automatically upgrade the ATI graphics card. If you are installing the latest graphics card driver yourself, it is recommended that you uninstall it first, and then install the Microsoft-certified graphics card driver to solve the above problem. If the problem continues to occur, you can also try to manually delete the above-mentioned AtipsShellExt.dll file by entering Safe Mode and then using the search function to find the above file completely.
