The world's smallest U disk: plug it in

Dutch manufacturer Deonet released today a very, very small U disk, known as "the world's smallest USB storage device," with an overall size of 19.5 x 14.5 x 2.9 mm.

Prior to this, the Kingmax Super Stick Mini was generally considered to be the smallest U disk, and the size was 31.5 x 12.4 x 2.2 mm, which is now reduced by about 5%.

Deonet said with triumph, use this U disk must be very careful, because once you insert the USB interface, you basically can not see it, for this Deonet is very intimate for its bundled with a small piece, also took the opportunity to print on "The world's smallest U disk" slogan.

Deonet claims that their secret lies in the use of "Micro UDP" chips, where UDP stands for "USB Disk In Package." This is a new packaging process that integrates controllers, flash memory circuits, substrates, passive components, etc. in a tiny integrated packaged chip. The final volume is less than half that of traditional USB U disk solutions. If this continues, the only way to limit the size of the U disk is probably the USB interface itself.

Deonet U disk capacity has 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and other versions, specific read and write speeds have not been announced. The time to market is scheduled for January 2012 and the price is to be determined.
