GeForce 400 Series New Model Exposure

Catalyst 10.8 exposed a large number of development codes for AMD's next-generation desktop and mobile graphics family, the “Northern Islands”. NVIDIA has seen similar situations today, but the approach is rather strange.

Microsoft recently released a WHQL-certified official version of the N-Card driver through Windows Update, version 259.47, compiled on August 21, supporting GeForce 6/7/8/9/100/200/300/400, ION Series products, and the device support list impressively lists five new low-end desktop models, as well as up to seven mobile models covering various market segments.

GeForce GTS 450 will be officially released on the 13th of next month, based on GF106 core, 192 stream processors, 128-bit 1GB GDDR5 memory, frequency 783/1566/3608MHz, suggested retail price of 129 US dollars.

GeForce GTS 455 is not sure where it is sacred. It may be based on the same GF104 core as the GeForce GTX 460. The specification is further weakened. As for the GeForce GT 440/430/420, no accident should be the product of the bottom-most core GF108.

NVIDIA has only released a top-end GeForce GTX 480M so far, but next week we will be able to learn more about the GeForce GTX 445M/425M and other mainstream new models. It looks like NVIDIA is already at its best on the desktop and mobile, and it will eventually complete its preparation. The DX11 product line will eventually be deployed.
