On December 8, GE won the 2008 Beijing Olympic Green Building Outstanding Contribution Enterprise Award at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Green Building Science and Technology Achievements Exchange Promotion Conference.
On December 8, 2008, GE won the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games jointly presented by Beijing 2008 Engineering Construction Headquarters Office, Beijing Beiao Co., Ltd. and China Ministry of Construction Science and Technology Development Promotion Center at the 2008 Beijing Olympics Green Building Science and Technology Achievements Exchange Promotion Conference. Green Building Outstanding Contribution Enterprise Award. At the same time, many technologies such as T5 fluorescent lamps and Wavecast transformers developed by GE Lighting and Industrial Products Group also won the title of Beijing Olympic Green Building Excellent Technology Brand.
GE provides leading products and technologies for 37 venues and 168 commercial buildings of the Beijing Olympics, including a series of technology and environmental demonstration projects, such as the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) direct drinking water project and rainwater flood utilization project, 73 Turnkey substation, as well as baggage inspection equipment at the Capital Airport. GE will continue to develop energy-efficient and holistic solutions for China to provide customers with better products and services.
