Decanter industrial high-speed large-capacity centrifuges (hereinafter referred to as centrifuges) can adjust the operating parameters of three: drum speed, screw and drum differential speed, liquid pool depth.
1, drum speed:
The ratio of the settling velocity of the solid particles in the suspension in the centrifuge drum to the centrifugal force and the settling velocity of the solid particles in the suspension under gravity is the separation factor.
The solid-liquid density difference of the suspension is large, the sedimentation speed is fast, and the separation effect is good. The liquid viscosity is small, the sedimentation speed is fast, and the separation effect is good. The size of solid particles has the most obvious effect on the separation effect. Large particles are easy to settle and separate, and small particles are not easy to settle and separate.
For different materials and different working conditions, the separation factor used is also different. If the solid particles of the material are small, the solid-liquid density difference is small, the liquid viscosity is large (low temperature), and the separation factor is as large as possible. If the solid particles of the material are large, the solid-liquid density difference is large, and the viscosity of the liquid is small (high temperature), the separation factor may be smaller. If flocculants are added during solid-liquid separation to form group settlement, the separation factor can be lower.
2. Differential speed between screw and drum:
In order to maintain a stable differential speed between the screw and the drum, the centrifuge is equipped with a differential with a large reduction ratio. When the drum speed is constant, changing the speed of the input shaft of the differential can change the differential speed between the screw and the drum, so that the conveying capacity (slagging capacity) of the screw can be changed, thereby affecting the separation effect of the centrifuge.
Under the premise of other operating conditions unchanged, if a smaller differential speed is used, the screw conveying speed will decrease, the residence time of the solid phase in the dewatering zone will increase, and a solid phase with a lower moisture content can be obtained. As the conveying speed of the screw decreases, its conveying capacity decreases and the liquid phase clarity decreases. vice versa.
3, liquid pool depth:
The distance from the liquid surface in the drum to the drum wall is the "height" of the liquid surface and is usually referred to as the drum liquid pool depth.
Using overflow plates with different inside diameters, different depths of the liquid pool can be obtained, so that the length of the dehydration zone and the settlement zone in the drum can be changed, thereby changing the sedimentation ability and dewatering capacity of the centrifuge.
Under the premise of other operating conditions unchanged, if the overflow plate with a larger inner diameter is used, the depth of the liquid pool will be reduced, the length of the settlement zone will be shortened, and the settling capacity of the centrifuge will be reduced. However, it will increase the length of the dehydration zone, increase the dehydration time of the solid phase, and increase the dewatering capacity of the centrifuge. vice versa.
