About HSTP and LSTP
1. Signaling point (SP)
The signaling point is equipped with a common channel signaling system, and a communication network node that can both send and receive signaling messages is called a signaling point. It is the origin and destination of signaling messages. The signaling points mainly include the following equipment exchanges;
Business control point
Signaling transfer point;
Second, the signaling transfer point The signaling transfer point STP has a signaling transfer function, which can forward signaling messages from one signaling point to another signaling point.
Dedicated signaling transfer point, such as STP
Non-dedicated signaling transfer point, such as TS
Third, the signaling network
1. The second-level signaling network The second-level signaling network is a signaling network that uses a first-level signaling transfer point.
2. Three-level signaling network A three-level signaling network is a signaling network with a second-level signaling transfer point. The first-level signaling transfer point is called a high-level signaling transfer point (HSTP) or a main signaling transfer point. The second level is the low-level signaling transfer point (LSTP) or secondary signaling transfer point.
3. China's signaling network uses a three-level structure. It is composed of long-distance signaling network and local signaling networks of large and medium cities. Among them, the local signaling network of large and medium cities is a secondary network, which is equivalent to the second level (LSTP) and the third level (SP) of the long distance network.
The first-level HSTP is responsible for transferring the signaling messages of the second-level LSTP and the third-level SP that it concatenates. The HSTP uses a stand alone STP.
The second-level LSTP is responsible for transferring the signaling messages of the third-level SP to which it is tandem. The LSTP can use an independent signaling-type STP or a comprehensive STP.
The third level SP is the origin or destination of the signaling message.
4. Principle of Signaling Transfer Point (STP) Network Organization
1. There are currently 9 pairs of HSTP on the GSM network, located in: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Jinan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan. 9 pairs of HSTP sub-plane settings, 9 advanced signaling transfer points in this plane are connected by a mesh network, and the planes are connected by a C link between pairs of HSTP.
2. One or two LSTPs are set up in other provinces and cities, and the low-level signaling transfer point is connected to its pair of high-level signaling transfer points in a load sharing manner.
