U.S. Improves Energy Efficiency Standards for Fluorescent and Incandescent Reflectors

The reporter learned from the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau yesterday that the US Department of Energy recently revised the energy efficiency standards for general-purpose fluorescent lamps and incandescent reflector lamps. The new standard is generally much higher than the current standard.

New energy efficiency standards up to 100%

On May 11, 2009, the US Department of Energy released the Energy Conservation Program: Energy Saving Standards for General Purpose Fluorescent Lamps and Incandescent Reflectors, and revised energy efficiency standards for general purpose fluorescent lamps (GSFL) and incandescent reflector lamps (IRL).

The reporter learned from the WTO/TBT Fujian Consultation Station of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau yesterday that the newly proposed energy efficiency standard has improved the energy-saving standards of general-purpose fluorescent lamps, and the standard has generally increased by more than 10%, and the 2-FootU with a correlated color temperature of 4500K or less. The general-purpose fluorescent lamp, the proposed standard is 78lm / W, an increase of 22% compared to the current standard. The newly proposed energy-saving standard for incandescent reflectors has been significantly improved over current standards, with incandescent reflectors larger than 2.5 inches, voltages greater than 125V, and standard spectra from 40W to 205W. The newly proposed standard is up to 100% higher than current standards. The remaining proposed standards have generally increased by more than 30%.

It is reported that the above standards are required to be implemented after June 30, 2012. All related products produced or imported into the United States must meet the above requirements.

Raise energy-saving levels to deal with barriers

Fujian Province is a major province for the production of optoelectronic products in China. In 2008, the output value of optoelectronic products exceeded 70 billion yuan, of which Xiamen has become the manufacturing and export base of high-end energy-saving lighting in the world. In response to the US energy efficiency standards for general-purpose fluorescent lamps and incandescent reflector lamps, the experts of the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau WTO/TBT Fujian Consulting Station reminded: on the one hand, we should keep track of the latest information of the barriers, and actively take countermeasures to minimize the barriers. On the other hand, we should increase product development efforts, adjust the product technology structure, maximize the energy-saving level of products, reduce their energy consumption, and thus improve the competitiveness of the products themselves, so as to eventually occupy the trade with the United States. A place.

Eurostyle Terminal Blocks

Euroblock, short for "European-style terminal block"; is a combination of a low-voltage disconnect (or pluggable) connector and terminal block commonly used for microphones and line-level audio signals , and for control signals such as RS-232 or RS-485. It is also known as the Phoenix connector and comes from a German Phoenix Electric Company, which was established in 1981 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. Also known as "Plug-in Terminal Blocks" or "Two-Piece Terminal Blocks".
