Temperature measurement system design (ZigBee wireless technology)

With the continuous advancement of modern industrial automation technology, ZigBee wireless communication technology has become more and more mature, and it is widely used in many fields such as wireless sensor measurement network, industrial and agricultural monitoring, intelligent transportation, smart home and so on. ZigBee wireless communication technology features low power consumption, short distance, low cost, flexible network deployment, etc. It is very suitable for measurement occasions requiring automatic continuous data acquisition, local distributed measurement, and large-scale networked data processing.

The traditional wired temperature acquisition system has complicated wiring, easy aging, high cost, poor flexibility, and no mobility. The wireless temperature acquisition transmission system can solve these problems and save human resources. The use of wireless temperature acquisition transmission technology can also reduce the personal hazards of workers, and they can collect the temperature of the site without taking risks.

In this paper, a temperature measurement system based on ZigBee wireless communication technology is designed to realize wireless communication between nodes. At the same time, the upper computer collects temperature information and performs unified management. The system has good scalability and easy maintenance.

1 system overall design

Since the zigbee network topology has three modes: star, tree, and mesh, it can be divided into three types: terminal node (ep), router node (rp), and coordinator node (cp) according to network node function. Its organizational structure is shown in Figure 1.

The terminal node wirelessly transmits the collected temperature information to the coordinator node, and the coordinator node is responsible for managing all the terminal nodes connected thereto, is responsible for networking with it, and accepts temperature information from the terminal node and information of the terminal node and will all The information is transmitted to the PC and displayed to the user. For some control systems, the PC can also analyze different applications to make different controls.

2 terminal node design

The terminal node uses the digital temperature sensor DS18B20 to collect temperature information, and sends the temperature information to the microcontroller CC2480 for preliminary processing. The temperature information and the information of the transmitting end are transmitted to the coordinator node through the RF radio antenna integrated in the CC2480 chip. There are mainly three modules in function: temperature acquisition module, micro control module, and wireless communication module. The corresponding hardware module is shown in Figure 3.
