Each time the up-count input of Siemens plc performs a switch from off to on, the up count (CTU) counts up from the current value of the counter. The counter is reset when the input is turned on or the reset command is executed. When the maximum value (32,767) is reached, the counter stops.
Up/down counter (CTUD) counts up each time the count up input is performed from off to on, and each time the down count input performs a transition from off to on 32,767), counting up the next rising edge of the input causes the current The count becomes the minimum value (32,768). Similarly, when the minimum value (-32,768) is reached, counting down the next rising edge of the input causes the current count to become the maximum value (32,767).
The up and up/down counters have a current value that holds the current count. The counter also has a preset value (PV) that turns on the preset value and when the C bit is turned on each time the counter instruction is executed. Otherwise, the C bit is turned off.
Each time the down count input performs a transition from off to on, the down counter (CTD) counts down from the current value of the counter.
