The lighting design of a restaurant in The Shard, Europe's tallest building, was created by the Darren Orrow lighting designer. Will this lighting project take place in London? This restaurant is located in the 30th tall building of the 308-meter building. On the second floor, the restaurant is open to the public in June this year, offering a grill menu and separate lounge and bar area with live music in the evenings.
Darren Orrow said that lighting at the restaurant in Oblix should be relegated to the second line. The biggest challenge is to reduce the reflected light source and the accessories around the perimeter glass panel. To achieve this, the downlight is used as little as possible and is equipped with an anti-glare baffle. Only illuminate the areas you need, such as food, wine bottles and access. The low-voltage halogen downlight is installed in the kitchen area. The infrared reflective coating (IRC) halogen source is chosen for its high color rendering. The functional lighting display cabinet is a custom miniature square LED pendant with a size of only 25 x 500 mm.
The main lighting in the entire restaurant space is from the IRC halogen downlight, the light hitting the table is a uniform 24 degree beam, and the stone totem lighting in the store is provided by a 2200 K, internally mounted LED strip to provide a warm focus. In the bar area there is a custom miniature square pendant (25mm x 500mm) warm white LED light source that illuminates the stone countertop. In-store lighting is regulated to enhance the natural lighting of each space. The lighting in the lounge bar is controlled by a liquid crystal display panel, which is controlled by 10 buttons. All LED light sources, through DMX control, achieve extremely low level dimming.
