Diodes has introduced a 1A linear mode constant current LED driver designed to reduce the size and cost of general lighting products including flashlights, emergency lighting, garden lighting and poolside applications.
The highly integrated DLD101 LED driver is packaged in an optimized small-sized flat DFN package, which saves designers a lot of board space and the high thermal efficiency of the package ensures higher power consumption than the SOT23 IC.
The DLD101 integrates a unique "base-access pre-bias transistor" with an on-chip bias resistor that sets the LED current through a single external resistor without the need for additional boost transistors. In terms of bypass components, a high drain current 60V N-channel MOSFET is used instead of a bipolar transistor to reduce the overall bias current.
The DLD101 not only reduces PCB area and external component count for LED driver solutions, it also completely eliminates the EMI characteristics of switching regulator solutions.
