It is reported that as early as 2012, Nitto cooperated with Jiangsu Changzhou Semiconductor Lighting Application Technology Research Institute to jointly research and develop CSP technology, and then Nitto assisted Sanan Optoelectronics, Hongli Zhihui, Stereo Optoelectronics and other enterprises to build a film-type The CSP production line provides the latter with an important raw material fluorescent film for the production of CSP.

Stereo Optoelectronics is also one of the early companies involved in CSP in China. It has cooperated with many companies such as Samsung, Dehao Runda, Jingyuan Optoelectronics and Xuyu Optoelectronics to cooperate with CSP projects.

After the completion of the acquisition, Stereo Optoelectronics will become the most complete CSP manufacturing enterprise in the domestic industrial chain. Not only will it master the core technology, but it will also significantly reduce the material cost of CSP, which will inevitably promote the rapid development of CSP.

Liu Zhihua, director of the market for crystal energy optoelectronics, believes that “acquisition of the Nitto fluorescent film project in Japan is also an important step in the development of stereo photoelectric strategy. Fluorescent film is one of the core technologies of CSP, which determines the control of color temperature and color tolerance.”

In fact, the initial introduction of CSP solutions by LED companies was due to the need to save materials and reduce costs and improve product cost performance. So, what is the current CSP price/performance ratio?

As we all know, the CSP process is complex, the cost is very high, and the equipment investment is also very large, resulting in the CSP is currently in practical application, the cost performance is much lower than the formal and general SMD, whether it is single-sided or multi-faceted CSP. Therefore, if you can't make further breakthroughs in technology to reduce costs, CSP can't compete with formal wear and SMD in the field of general lighting.

First, improve cost performance and reduce costs. Customers are very sensitive to price; second, heat dissipation Space, design space processing; third, improve reliability, extend service life. Indeed, the current CSP is still in the promotion stage, and the cost is relatively high, but with the subsequent market upswing, there will be a large price cut. According to Liu Zhihua, the CSP products of Jingneng Optoelectronics have been developed for three years, and the technology has matured. The next step is to help more customers solve the problem of patching.

In the past two years, the CSP market was once cold. Many people in the industry believe that mainland manufacturers are basically in the small-volume production and marketing stage of CSP supply. No one has achieved mass production. This is actually thunder. The rain is small and self-proclaimed.

After entering 2016, driven by the chip packaging field and rising raw material prices, the midstream and upstream sectors showed signs of recovery, and various manufacturers became more active. Recently, manufacturers in the packaging field have been moving frequently, especially the CSP package, which is even more eye-catching.

In order to cope with the incremental demand of the CSP high-end market, Jingneng Optoelectronics actively expands production capacity and adjusts product prices to adapt to the market. In the first quarter of 2017, Jingneng Optoelectronics CSP's flashlights and lights customers demanded a large supply, and even the phenomenon of short supply.

Zheng Haibin also said, "Now our CSP has a certain amount of shipments. After a long period of time with our customers, we are constantly adding equipment. It is expected that there will be a big outbreak in the next quarter."

From the perspective of market application, CSP is more suitable for high-end market with high margins, and differentiated competition, such as mobile phone flash, automotive lighting, backlight display, special lighting and other fields have more advantages.
